  1. I disagree with this rule change. This is a tricky one. The purpose of warrants is to create a time limit, a method for keeping track of evidence validating RP. If a player is warranted for murder, runs away not to be seen until the warrant is gone, who is to tell whether that criminal had died after his warrant expired. If a warrant has expired, but the cop is still chasing the criminal, then they are within reason to re-warrant that criminal in attempts to serve justice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a criminal is wanted, and dies, the warrant goes away, invalidating any arrest. It is up to the cop that saw the crime to warrant again if they want to catch him. It would be crucial that a second warrant for the same crime be created immediately after the original expired. If the cop waits to make another warrant, meanwhile the criminal has died, the cop would create an invalid warrant. To combat this, it would be possible to warrant a player for a maximum of # times, and if they are not caught after those warrants, then they failed.
  2. I agree with this. The rule stating you can not return, is mostly due to raids. If you truly forget your past life, you don't remember where you were, but the rule is needed for raid scenarios. As a Moderator, I rarely find NLR to be a rule broken by people who have played the game before. I would be hard pressed to enforce the location rule if the player was assassinated. One problem: I cant say that this has ever happened in my experience, but say a clan member orders a hit on a player with intention to raid them afterwards. If player is outside that base when they get killed. It would allow the player to come back and defend after dying so close. In all, I like this rule change as it reduces the chance a player would get upset after breaking NLR over an assassination.

    BMD Covert Rule

I have to disagree with this. #1 Just because people don't follow a rule doesn't mean its a bad rule. #2 We are not other DarkRP servers. While gun dealers also sell guns that enable the customer to be arrested, the guns that a BMD has to offer are high powered. In real life, these Black Market Dealers are required to be covert about their operations because the guns they sell are automatically illegal. I think the goal (even though the rules don't fully support it) is to mimic what a BMD has to go through to sell their guns. It wouldn't make sense for a "Black Market Dealer" to openly sell guns as the black market is the trade of illegal goods. My suggestion would be to change the name of the job to something that doesn't assume illegal activity, or get rid of the rule stating that anything over a handgun is AOS, as it contradicts what a Gundealer is selling.
  4. Hey! So I noticed that we don't have chat commands like /report or a staff chat. These are actually really easy to implement. Personally I threw them directly into sv_chatcommands in the core files. My favorite was the RpEvent (/rp), I used it instead of having to use @ to declare rp events. It shows the event only to local players, and staff. local function SuperAdminChat(ply, args) if args == "" then return "" end local DoSay = function(text) if text == "" then return end if ply:IsSuperAdmin() then for k,v in pairs(player.GetAll()) do local col = team.GetColor(ply:Team()) if v:IsSuperAdmin() then DarkRP.talkToPerson(v, col,"(Superadmin Chat) "..ply:Nick(), Color(0,128,255,255), text, ply) end end end end return args, DoSay end DarkRP.defineChatCommand("sac", SuperAdminChat, 1.5) DarkRP.defineChatCommand("s", SuperAdminChat, 1.5) local function NewReportChat(ply, args) if args == "" then return "" end local DoSay = function(text) if text == "" then return end for k,v in pairs(player.GetAll()) do local col = team.GetColor(ply:Team()) if v:IsAdmin() or v:IsMod() or v == ply then DarkRP.talkToPerson(v, col,"[*REPORT*]"..ply:Nick(), Color(200,0,255,255), text, ply) end end end return args, DoSay end DarkRP.defineChatCommand("admin", NewReportChat, 1.5) DarkRP.defineChatCommand("report", NewReportChat, 1.5) local function ModChat(ply, args) if args == "" then return "" end local DoSay = function(text) if text == "" then return end if ply:IsMod() or ply:IsSuperAdmin() or ply:IsTrustedAdmin() then for k,v in pairs(player.GetAll()) do local col = team.GetColor(ply:Team()) if v:IsMod() or v:IsSuperAdmin() or ply:IsTrustedAdmin() then DarkRP.talkToPerson(v, col,"(Mod Chat)"..ply:Nick(), Color(0,250,250,255), text, ply) end end end end return args, DoSay end DarkRP.defineChatCommand("mc", ModChat, 1.5) local function ModAdvertise(ply, args) if args == "" then return "" end local DoSay = function(text) if text == "" then return end if ply:IsMod() or ply:IsSuperAdmin() then for k,v in pairs(player.GetAll()) do local col = team.GetColor(ply:Team()) DarkRP.talkToPerson(v, col,"[Moderator Advert] "..ply:Nick(), Color(0,219,87,255), text, ply) end end end return args, DoSay end DarkRP.defineChatCommand("madvert", ModAdvertise, 1.5) local function PoliceAdvertise(ply, args) if args == "" then return "" end local DoSay = function(text) if text == "" then return end if ply:IsCP() then for k,v in pairs(player.GetAll()) do local col = team.GetColor(ply:Team()) DarkRP.talkToPerson(v, col,"[Police Advert] "..ply:Nick(), Color(51,51,255,255), text, ply) end end end return args, DoSay end DarkRP.defineChatCommand("padvert", PoliceAdvertise, 1.5) local function RPEVENT(ply, args) if args == "" then return "" end local DoSay = function(text) if text == "" then return end DarkRP.talkToRange(ply, "[Rp Event] " .. ply:Nick(), text, 200) for k,v in pairs(player.GetAll()) do local col = team.GetColor(ply:Team()) if (v:IsOnDuty() or v:IsTrustedAdmin() or v:IsSuperAdmin()) and v != ply then DarkRP.talkToPerson(v, col,"[Rp Event] "..ply:Nick(), Color(0,153,153,255), text, ply) end end end return args, DoSay end DarkRP.defineChatCommand("rp", RPEVENT, 1.5)
  5. This guy joins the server, and after 30 minutes of game play, makes an app, buys an airboat and leaves. To top it off, his app is in introductions. Quite the introduction you've made. Top notch
  6. Hey all! I just finished an E2 allowing you to easily add any prop, turning it into a fading door that follows the current guidelines. I hope this can help people not have to worry about window timing. How it works: The window will stay open for as long as you stand there, but it will stay open for at least 4 seconds even if you walk away. Commands: !add (Player) !window (Prop you're looking at) Window Gate Code
  7. Looking forward to speaking with you.
  8. Yeah if you want to have to download over 2,000 files over Gmod. When I ran on my server, people reported waiting 20-30 minutes for content. I don't know if the method has changed or is better form a couple years ago, but its not worth it.
  9. Steam Name: RealDude SteamID: STEAM_0:0:51810887 What is your Discord identification: RealDude#2781 Age: 21 Country and Timezone: US - EST Have you played DarkRP before? If so, describe something that made the server(s) enjoyable for you: Ive been playing DarkRP for a very long time, 10 years now. I mainly started on ByB back on RP#5 (Boy did I love RPX), but has a lot of time played before I found ByB To make a server enjoyable, it needs to have plentiful features allowing players to differentiate that server from others. It is also incredibly important to have a community staffed with mature individuals who care about not just a rank, but what it can do for the community. Do you have experience with ULX Do you know what it is?: I am fluent with ULX Do you have previous staff experience? If so, describe it!: Starting in ByB I paid for admin where I made countless errors, but learned so much in the process. After that, I was recruited to start a server, at which time I had no experience coding. The owner decided to keep me anyways, and I began learning the ins and outs of how to properly administrate a server while being fair to both parties. It was a struggle, that is for sure, but I was up to it. That server lasted over a year, so when it closed, I decided to branch off and start my own. I was the sole developer for it and it may have not been the best, or cleanest made server, but we had some very fun times, times I will never forget. I was able to sustain the server with a full cap of 32 players every weekend while during the week it saw more in the 15-25 range. Unfortunately everything comes to an end, and that server did as well after about another year. After closing it, I decided to start it up again, but it was never the same, this probably lasted six months. Once again I decided to start another community, but re-branded. It was my finest work, being one of the only developers there, but It couldn't attract people. Is there anything unique you would bring to the staff team?: There are so many servers out there with actual children calling the shots and doing as they please. As a younger person, it is understandable to be on a high when you have such a rank, but its the wrong way to act. The only purpose of a moderator is to ensure that the life blood of the server, its players, are satisfied, refusing to leave. Rules are a part of a community in which it can make or break that community. Clarity, and coverage is so important. I prided myself on my rules page being accurate and fair to all parties. Following rules can be very confusing to people, as it is common to only read sections at a time misleading an individual. When rules get broken, its not the job of the moderator to only punish, it is their job to teach. I absolutely love teaching people about things that they don't understand. Some moderators would refuse to answer calls, but it is in that moment that can prove a server's dedication to the player. How would you help to improve the server/community?: As stated above, I would be certain to answer any and all calls, resolving any issues that come. I always look out for bugs and am very happy to give my suggestions to develop a server. Anything else you'd like to mention?: I am no newbie to this game. I stated that I have been playing for a decade, and that is no joke. I failed to branch of into other gamemodes and logged countless hours into DarkRP. My current account is not my only account. My other account has over 1,500 hours logged on Gmod but is not used anymore. https://steamcommunity.com/id/LemonHeadCrazy/ My sessions are about 3-5 times a week for 2-4 hours Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am excited to answer any other questions that come my way.
  10. Oh no. I was scared straight. I don't even text and drive. Hitting next on Spotify is hard enough for me while driving
  11. Thanks blue 😛
  12. Heyo, I didn't see a bug report forum. I think this spot will do just fine. On the DarkRP server, the scoreboard shows "There is currently ..." at the bottom. Shouldn't it be "There are..."? Of course if there was only one player online, then it should show "There is", but that shouldn't happen too often now should it.
  13. Idk if its weird, but I hotboxed a car for the first time with someone at work and proceeded to drive home. In the process (while baked out of my mind), I ran a red light, luckily the person turning saw me running it. After that I ran two stop signs. Lets just say I don't drive under the influence anymore.
